About Mim

Mim’s journey as a performer began at just 13 years old, when her natural talent for singing first emerged. She began training with the late Wally Carr, a respected teacher who nurtured many young performers in Adelaide. With his guidance, Mim developed not only vocal technique, but also learned to dance, act, and engage confidently with live audiences and the television camera, skills that laid the foundation for her stage presence and professionalism. She later trained for over ten years with the late Mr John Crossing, former Musical Director for Channel 9 nationally. His mentorship not only refined her musical discipline but helped her shape her personal style as a vocalist, an influence Mim holds in the highest regard.
At 15, Mim was invited to join the Johnny Young Talent Team, a dream offer that affirmed her growing talent. But just before rehearsals began, she turned 16, making her ineligible to join. Though disappointed, she continued to pursue her passion and soon went on to support Joey Perrone, Tina Arena, and the Johnny Young Talent Team during their Adelaide shows, gaining recognition for her distinctive voice and captivating stage presence.
Mim soon became a familiar name at Italian festivals across Adelaide, performing live to large multicultural audiences. Her success led her to support a number of celebrated overseas artists, many of them winners of the prestigious Festival di Sanremo, including Al Bano & Romina Power, Riccardo Fogli, Christian, Toto Cutugno, and Pupo. These performances blended heartfelt tradition with professional polish, reflecting Mim’s deep connection to her heritage and her dedication to the craft.
In addition to her work on stage, Mim has also sung at weddings and church services, bringing emotional depth to life’s most sacred moments. Her voice, both powerful and warm, has accompanied families through joyful unions, meaningful celebrations, and heartfelt farewells. Most recently, Mim returned to the studio to record a selection of songs in tribute to her late mother, collaborating with world-renowned pianist and musical director Kym Purling. This new chapter marks a return to the music that has always lived inside her, and a reawakening of her lifelong passion to perform.
Mim continues to refine her craft working with renowned voice practitioner Tania Savelli. She believes that artistry is a lifelong journey and values the insight, support, and challenge that ongoing professional guidance provides. Like many seasoned performers, Mim embraces continual growth, knowing that true musicians never stop learning, evolving, and deepening their connection to their craft.
